The Rev. C. Berkley Ford, Rector. Berkley comes to us from Maryland where he served for 17 years as an assistant rector and rector. Berkley received his B.A. University of Maryland in Interdiscilplinary studies of Philosophy, Psychology and Religion; and M.Div. from The University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee. Berkley is married with three grown children. In his previous diocese Berkley served on and chaired many mission strategy and administrative committees and commissions. The Rev. Conor Alexander, Assistant Rector. Conor comes to us from the Diocese of Central New York, where he grew up. He attended Cornell University, where he earned his bachelors degree in engineering. Conor spent three years working for Bristol-Myers Squibb before enrolling at Virginia Theological Seminary. He graduated in May of 2007 and moved to Norfolk where his wife has a call at Church of the Ascension. The Rev. Jess H. Stribling Jess is an Assisting Priest on a part-time basis. Ordained in 1962, he served parishes in Washington, D.C., Silver Spring, Maryland, and Arlington, Virginia until his retirement in 2001. From 1974 he also practiced law at the U. S. Food and Drug Administration and thereafter in private practice. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, the Virginia Seminary, and the George Washington University Law School. The Reverend Josephine A. Taylor: "Jo" is serving us as Spiritual Director. She received training in spiritual direction with the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation from 1980 to 1982. A graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary, she was ordained in 1985 and served churches in Connecticut and Maryland. After coming into the Diocese of Southern Virginia in 1998 she has worked as Interim Rector with four parishes. In 1965 she received a M.A. from Tulane University and taught high school English for fourteeen years. Her interests include theater, poetry, and birding!

The Rev. William H. Wagner retired from the active parish ministry in 1990. At that time, he was the Rector of Trinity Church, Portland, Oregon. Bill is a graduate of Drury College and Seabury-Western Seminary. He has served churches in Providence, Paris, New York and Chicago.

The Rev. Patti Davis, Deacon Patti is a native of Savannah, Georgia, married to Rod, a retired Naval aviator. They have two grown, married daughters and 3 grandchildren. She graduated from Roanoke College with a B.A. in Psychology and has completed Kerygma, EFM, The Virginia Institute for Spiritual Direction, and the North Carolina Deacon Formation Program. She was ordained at Old Donation Church in 1999 and served for 6 years as Archdeacon by the bishop’s appointment. She has previously served at St. Paul’s, Norfolk, Church of the Advent, Norfolk, and Galilee Church, Virginia Beach. She is a published poet and co-author of Searching the Heart of God: Deacon and Priest in Conversation. In 2006 she received the John Hines Preaching Award from Virginia Theological Seminary.

StaffThe Director of Music is Dr. Allen Shaffer. A recently retired professor of music at Norfolk State University, Allen became the head of our music program in 1989. He is also is the Co-Director of the Norfolk Chamber Consort and the retired conductor of the Cantata Chorus, a post he held for 12 years. Assistant Organist is Marjorie Setnicky Marjorie has a background in piano performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music (preparatory Department) and Music Education from Bowling Green State University. Marjorie studied piano with Francis Burnett, harpsichord with Dr. Vincent Corrigan and currently studies organ with Dr. Allen Shaffer. She has a large piano studio as well as Musikgarten for babies and toddlers. Marjorie is a clinician for the regional American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, performs actively with Tapestry, a small ensemble and solo-ringing performance group, and served as the conductor of the Virginia Handbell consort 2001-2003. Among her experiences, she has been an instructor at O.D.U. in early childhood education and an author of educational materials for the Christian education and formation curriculum published by the Virginia Theological Seminary. The Business Administrator is Joyce Safford. Joyce is a native of New England and a graduate of Westfield State College. She and her husband have been Hampton Roads residents for 24 years. She is a member of the National Association of Church Business Administration and earned her certification as a Fellow Church Business Administrator in 1996. The Parish Secretary is Frances Halcrow. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Arts in Religion from the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina. Frances's responsibilities include answering the phone, serving as secretary to the clergy and other parish organizations. She also coordinates scheduling for Lectors, Chalicers, Healers and Lay Eucharistic visitors, maintains space reservations and the church calendar. Contact Frances Halcrow: Frances.csl@verizon.net
